The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort, an oceanfront hotel and spa, is a casual but elegant building, reminiscent of a grand seaside mansion. The four-story hotel was designed to feel like it has been on Kiawah Island for centuries, evolving and expanding from one imaginary homeowner to the next. Golf Courses

Cougar Point

Cougar Point was a great addition to Kiawah's collection of golf. Built on the site of the former Marsh Point, the par-72 layout features holes playing directly along broad expanses of tidal marsh, offering panoramic views of the Kiawah River and acres of needle rush and spartina grass.

Ocean Course

Considered Pete Dye's best design, The Ocean Course gained instant notoriety by hosting the 1991 Ryder Cup and reaffirmed during Phil Mickleson's PGA championship victory in 2021. Located on the easternmost end of Kiawah Island, The Ocean Course has more seaside holes than any other course in the Northern Hemisphere, 10 right along the Atlantic (the other 8 run parallel).

Osprey Point

This Tom Fazio course is a definite favorite of resort guests. With a perfect natural layout and delightful challenge, Osprey Point is the picture of South Carolina golf. Four large lakes, saltwater marshes, and dense forests of live oak, pines, palmettos, and magnolias give Osprey Point an unmistakable southern feel.

Turtle Point

Kiawah's Turtle Point is a tribute to traditional, classic golf. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the intention of this course is to challenge the mental game of golfers. A bit more satisfying for better players because of its traditional design, Turtle Point calls for accuracy and strategic choices. Driving well is essential to making par, as Turtle Point is one of the longest courses on the island.

Important Information

  1. RENTAL VEHICLES: For those looking for the freedom of the open road, car rental can offer our clients the greatest flexibility and often the best value. The majority of our rental vehicles are automatic transmission, large enough for your requirements, and include standard insurance. You will need a valid driver’s license and credit card at pickup and our packages include damage, airport drop off charges, 3rd party insurance, airport taxes and surcharges, etc. The only charge will be for additional drivers, supplemental insurance, and fuel. Your vehicle will be filled with fuel at pickup and should be filled prior to drop off.
  2. HANDICAPS: You must travel with a handicap certificate (printed or electronic) because some courses may ask for your handicap card and can deny access if you don’t have one as maximum handicap restrictions apply on some courses. If you do not qualify, call and we can discuss your options.
  3. CARTS / CADDIES: While carts are generally included in our packages in the US, where they are not, we will advise you. In these cases often a cart is only available with a “Doctors note or Medical Certificate”. In some cases caddies and forecaddies are mandatory or advised, again we will advise you accordingly.
  4. FINAL DOCUMENTS: About three weeks prior to departure you will receive a detailed itinerary with local staff contact information, hotel contacts, travel tips, restaurant recommendations, hotel and golf descriptions, sightseeing descriptions, and interesting reading on local tours and history.
  5. VOUCHERS: Premier Golf no longer provides vouchers, as most suppliers such as golf courses and hotels do not require them any longer. All of your tour components are prepaid and vouchers are now obsolete. 
  6. CANCELLATIONS: Our terms and conditions of booking are shown above. These terms and conditions will be enforced, so we strongly recommend purchasing Travel Insurance.
  7. TRAVEL INSURANCE: Travel Insurance by GolfSafe Travel Protection, the world’s most established travel protection provider, is highly recommended. We will provide you with a Travel Insurance link when completing your Registration Form. You have up to 2 weeks after paying your first deposit to buy travel insurance and still be covered for pre-existing conditions.   9. PHOTOGRAPHER: Among our guests favorite add-on items is hiring a professional photographer to follow them around whichever iconic course you are playing, taking action pictures, and assembling the best photographs into a nice memento photo book. Ask us about this service and document your golf pilgrimage for years to come! Makes for a great follow up gift for your group too!
  10. PASSPORTS & VISAS: A passport, valid for six months after your return to the US is required.  Begin your application process now if your passport has or will expire soon. US Citizens should check with the US Department of State on any visa requirements;https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel.html. All non-US citizens should check with similar organizations. Remember requirements change frequently so please check before travel.
